Case Study

In search of a killer blogging platform to grow her personal brand, agency owner Charity Reeb approached us with her vision.

Tame the circus

Hot on the heels of creating her corporate site with us, Charity knew we were capable of bringing her playful yet mature circus-themed blogging site to life. She was adamant that it not be your typical Squarespace site, and she showed several examples of what she was aiming for.

Good, Bad, Real Life

“I feel like I couldn’t say enough positive things about the experience with pb+j and the unique edge they brought to my project. And, part of what I love about them, is their commitment to cheerleading for their clients–they’ve been some of my biggest supporters and friends on my mission to focus on what matters and live it every day."

Ladies and gentlemen:
an awe-inspiring feat of design

While Charity art directed her photoshoot in Springfield, Missouri, our creative team in Toronto got to work on the brand design. Charity had a vision for her colour palette: black, white and gold. For the logo she wanted a crest with a skull and the words “Live for what matters. Die without regret”.

Creative lead Hilary got to work, first in her sketch pad, then we digitized the crest and married it with the imagery.

Next came the site!

Once the stage was set with the crest and design, Hilary and the team came together to develop the website.

We customized many elements, like adding parallaxing to imagery to give a feeling of movement, and laying typography over images for added visual razzle-dazzle. In the blog section we altered font styles and created a beautiful background image to give the page more dimension and flow. And to attract blog followers, we placed an email sign-up form high up on every page of the site. As always, we wanted to push the limits of Squarespace in both design and functionality to create an beautiful, intricately designed site.

The standing ovation

To us, this project screams our mantra of “made for each other”.

In just under 30 days we brought Charity’s vision to life in a striking, bold website that is true to her spirit. This site is a fantastic example of the incredible you can achieve in Squarespace when you have professional designers and developers on your side.
