TIMBREN: Case Study

Revenue Retool → Growth Kitchen

Timeline

36 months

Everything looked like it was working.

Timbren Automotive lives in a world where things are heavy on purpose. Trucks hauling trailers across the wide open road. RVs dragging entire living rooms down the highway. Timbren builds the hardware that keeps those loads behaving like they belong on asphalt instead of in a rodeo.

When pb+j stepped into the garage, the DTC channel already looked solid. Revenue sat at $1.57M, powered by about $188K in ad spend and flexing an 8.36x ROAS that made every dashboard screenshot look like a win. Traffic kept climbing, revenue followed politely behind, and the team stayed busy enough to believe the formula was obvious. Spend more, drive more traffic, watch the graph keep rising.

The only question sitting quietly under the hood was whether this engine could actually take Timbren to $10M+, or whether it would run out of road somewhere along the way.

The traffic was qualified, but Timbren wasn’t cashing the check.

The dashboard never raised its voice. Campaigns performed well by surface standards and the metrics behaved like polite dinner guests. Yet every visitor arriving on the site carried far more potential value than the business captured.

Conversion hovered under 1%. Revenue per session sat around $1.68. Growth leaned almost entirely on paid media, pushing harder into the funnel.

Timbren had demand. The audience arriving on the site wanted solutions for towing, suspension, and load control. The machine brought the right people through the door, then let most of them walk back out again.

Timbren was stuck in Traffic Worship.

Traffic worship sounds responsible. The kind of thinking that tells teams ROAS protects profitability and that scaling ad spend naturally scales the business.

Dashboards love this story because the numbers behave nicely. Meetings love it because the strategy feels simple. Meanwhile, the real opportunity sits deeper in the funnel, quietly waiting for someone to notice.

Timbren had fallen into the same pattern that traps plenty of strong brands with strong products. Traffic looked good. Campaigns performed well. Yet the business quietly left most of the available value untouched.

The funnel was starving.

On the surface, everything looked strong. ROAS sat at 8.36x, traffic kept climbing, and AOV hovered around $365.

Underneath that picture, the numbers that actually determine growth told a different story.

Revenue per session climbed from $1.68 to $3.25, a 94% increase in the value extracted from each visit. Average revenue per user moved from $365 to $435, a 19% improvement in customer value. Conversion rate jumped from 0.68% to 2.65%, a 290% lift that turned the funnel into a working engine.

Once the system started capturing the value already present in the traffic, the revenue graph followed.

$1.57M → $7.6M in under three years.

The opportunity was already sitting inside the traffic Timbren paid for every day.

pb+j is awesome. Working with them is one of the best decisions I've ever made for Timbren. They’ve been a total unlock for us.

They crushed our Shopify rebuild, and then CRO, PPC, SEO, SEM, Email and all the ongoing work on our site. I can tell you that we've seen massive gains in our metrics, resulting in changes that are driving profound revenue growth and greater confidence in expansion.

These guys are wizards, and they’re always hunting for new, revenue-driving opportunities to unlock further growth. They’re data-driven, all-star communicators, and collaborate unbelievably well. They even proactively flagged a silent returns issue; most agencies wouldn’t care enough to worry about returns. And in all of this, they put our customers first to make sure they're getting the best experience possible.

If you're on the fence about working with these guys towards your goals, don't be. Just freaking do it!
